USA Field Hockey Webcasts National Rules Briefing
USA Field Hockey makes historic announcement to webcast its National Rules Briefing. The production will be broadcast live on August 4, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time (-5 GMT) and cost $10. A recording of the program will be available on-demand throughout the 2010 season. Whether you attend the live broadcast or view recordings of the broadcast, the total is only $10.

How to Umpire Course (USA)
Registration is now open for the annual HOW TO UMPIRE FIELD HOCKEY course taught by UmpireHockey.com publisher Cris Maloney at Mercer County Community College. Maloney uses the FIH Level I Umpire course curriculum, NFHS rules book, professional photography, videos, his experience and his presentation skills to bring officiating to life in this unique classroom experience. Students from as far away as Maryland, Easton PA, and Bryn Mawr PA have taken Maloney's course. On field coaching is also available.

The Invisible Umpire
There is an old myth, from a bygone era but persistent even to this day, that to be a good umpire you have to be invisible. In truth, the only time umpires are forced into shedding their cloak of invisibility is when they blow their whistle. Therefore, the responsibility for enabling umpires to remain invisible rests on the shoulders of those who break the rules.

Starter Umpire Course (USA|NJ|South-2007)
A Starter Umpire course, designed by the International Hockey Federation, is a three hour introduction to the world of field hockey officiating. A course is being offered in Voorhees, NJ, on Thursday, June 7, 5:30-9:30pm (the first half hour is used to conduct mobility testing, the last half hour is for the written exam).
