Rules and Briefings
On August 28, 2007, Cris Maloney, the publisher of UmpireHockey.com and a nationally certified Umpire Coach with 30-years of field hockey officiating experience, will present an up-to-the-minute information session on the rules and interpretations that will govern play during the fall field hockey season.
Designed specifically for high school players, the presentation will be held in New Jersey's central region so it is as easy as possible for the highest number of participants in New Jersey's field hockey community to attend (high school teams, club teams, parents, coaches, etc.).
This program is a must for those seeking their team's leadership position, a.k.a. team captain!
In addition to his officiating credentials, Mr. Maloney won silver and gold medals at the USOC's Olympic Festival as a player and a coach and is the founder of New Jersey's Garden State Games Field Hockey Event. His experience as a field hockey player, coach, and event organizer will be used to "bring the rules alive" in this opportunity for coaches, players, parents and fans to learn first hand exactly what umpires are looking for and why.
The site of the presentation will be Princeton Day School in Princeton, NJ. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. and take about an hour, though more time has been allocated in case the question and answer portion of the session leads to additional discussion.
COST: $1 for players. $10 for adults.
TIME: 6:30 p.m. (arrival time, 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.)
LOCATION: Princeton Day School, 650 The Great Road, Princeton, NJ 08540
DIRECTIONS: http://maps.google.com/
